The clip attached to that announcement is slightly annoying. I enjoy Hunter's unique delivery of the songs we all know and love. It bugs me that people want to make his show a sing-along, rather than actually listening. It's not a goddamn campfire! Hunter probably doesn't care, but when he's hitting a melancholy note and the crowd is bouncing along singing the GD version over him, well that just fucking sucks man.

Not just annoying... downright rude and disruptive. Makes you think Weir was righteous walking off stage a few months back.

Don't tell Ian!

;)

[recall his "camp fire ditties" work...ie, McGlone. But in point of fact, I agree completely w you and BD, and only made this joke because I can no longer think of the phrase about a camp fire without thinking of him--he used to post links, or tell us about it, or something along those lines...the Canadian Giant. But, yeah, I hate it when folks start singing...bleech]

I thought the same. I would NOT have wanted to be in attendance. Last time I saw Hunter, decades ago at this point, it was in a small club where people sat and listened attentively and then applauded at the end of songs, shouted out requests, etc. ... but while he played, people shut the hell up.
